Happy Memorial Day! -photos from the going away party for Will.
Today means a little more and really just hits home this year. Last Monday, May 22nd, my baby brother joined the Army and left for basic training. I am so scared, nervous, anxious, excited, but most of all PROUD! I know Memorial Day celebrates those who fought and gave their lives for this country, but I would also like to celebrate, remember, and most of all PRAY for those who are currently serving our country. This has been something that my brother, Will, has always wanted to do. For as long as I can remember, he has watched army movies, read army books, and played army in the backyard with his best friend and neighbor (who ironically went with him on the same day, and to the same base!). Please keep them both in your prayers! If you are reading this and are currently serving our country or have served our country in the past, then I want to say THANK YOU!
To my brother: I will pray for you constantly. As sad as I am to see you go, I am even more proud that you have the GUTS to do it. You are the prime example of the type of man I want protecting our country. Protecting MY Gracie Belle’s future. I can only hope that everyone who fights to protect my home has a heart like yours. Thank You. I love you.
